PRESS RELEASE
Whilst delivering the opening address to the 'Money for Life' event at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff, Janet Finch-Saunders AM said: "This programme is designed to provide young learners and adults with the skills they need to successfully manage their finances, and support their wider community to do so."
"Following the global financial crisis, we have all been feeling the pinch of the tight fiscal situation that has resulted. This has given rise to increases in personal debt, and the growth in payday lenders.
"The Money for Life scheme provides qualifications for work based learning, FE and community learning practitioners training on financial capability skills and knowledge.
"The Money for Life challenge is a scheme open to groups of young people to design their own project to encourage sound money management. The scheme is open to applications until the 22 November, and I would urge anyone who thinks they have a good idea to apply."
