Aberconwy Assembly Member, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, visited High Pastures Nursing Home, Deganwy, on Friday to celebrate Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day and Care Home Open Day.
High Pastures Nursing Home’s 43 residents, along with staff and relative welcomed the AM. Funds were raised for the Alzheimer’s Society’s National ‘cupcake’ day with staff and relatives making and selling cupcakes to raise essential funds to help the charity find a cure for dementia, fund vital services and campaign for the rights of people with dementia.
Janet said:
“The day was a real treat – with entertainment, tours of the home and gardens, and some wonderful cupcakes produced to raise funds for this important cause.
“The 5th Annual Care Home Open Day is a chance for us to celebrate the fantastic work of care home staff, as well as the emphasising the importance of care homes in connecting with local communities.
“This year’s theme is ‘Friendship’ and it was lovely to see the great camaraderie, spirit and friendships which have developed between residents, staff, friends and family at High Pastures – and reflected in many other Homes across Aberconwy.“
