Following the introduction of the Gender-Based Violence, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Vioence (Wales) Bill into the Assembly, the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee held an event with stakeholders to gauge their views on the Bill. I heard on several occaisions that the Bill does not go far enough and there were concerns about how the local authorities will be able to carry out their obligations in an age of reduced funding. I will raise these matters during the legislative course to make sure it is the best legislation for Wales.
