Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken in delight at the selfless action shown by Debbie Henderson, Plas Maenan Country House, in accommodating couples who had seen their wedding plans at the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia, Dolgarrog, left in tatters.
It is understood that as many as 8 couples have been accommodated at Plas Maenan following the closure of the Hilton Garden Inn for use by asylum seekers.
After visiting Plas Maenan, Janet said:
“A wedding is one of the most exciting milestones in many of our lives. It takes months, sometimes years, of preparation, so my heart goes out to all who were affected by the accommodating of asylum seekers in Dolgarrog.
“The stress and upset caused to couples and their guests is unimaginable. I will therefore forever be grateful to Plas Maenan Country House for stepping up to save so many special days.
“The new management at the elegant Edwardian country house have already earnt a very special place in the heart of so many across our community, and I am sure will go on to make an even greater contribution.
“During my visit, I was delighted to have a glimpse into the magnificent plans Debbie has to make the house an even more popular destination. With her vision and fine management accompanied by exquisite food, there is no doubt that all couples looking for a wedding venue should visit Plas Maenan”.
