Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight after attending the town’s prom day last Saturday.
The event took place on the promenade, organised once again by the committee. It was full day of fun filled activities for everyone to enjoy and kicked off with the extremely popular Deganwy Dash.
Afterwards, there was music from Beulah Band and “Choirs For Good” with a fun dog show starting just after lunch. The activities didn’t stop there as there were more events in the afternoon from Conwy Sea Cadets, and a generous raffle to finish off the day.
Speaking after the event, Janet said:
“It was a joy to visit the prom day, and see hundreds, if not thousands of people supporting this excellent event that provides a free day out for members of the whole family.
“There were so many activities that everyone could take part in, with the entire promenade full with music, shows, stalls and stands. The atmosphere was magnificent!
“Free events such as this are extremely important to support our local economy, and it was exciting to see all the different charities and organisations, and meet their incredible volunteers. There were so many to choose from but some of them were the RNLI, Cllr Ian Turner with the Save North Shore Beach petition, Tenvous Cymru, Cllr Helen Roberts, Maethu Cymru/ Foster Wales and Damian Plant with the St Davids Hospice volunteers.
“Whilst enjoying the lovely sunshine, which was a perfect excuse to enjoy a well-deserved ice cream, I was serenaded by Ron Watson Jones from Penmaenmawr as he was performing his Rockiin Ron act. I felt like Juliet in Shakespeares play.
Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi sôn am am yr amser braf a gafodd yn niwrnod prom y dref ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf.
Cynhaliwyd y digwyddiad ar y promenâd, a drefnwyd unwaith eto gan y pwyllgor. Roedd yn ddiwrnod llawn gweithgareddau hwyliog i bawb eu mwynhau a dechreuodd y cyfan gyda'r Deganwy Dash hynod boblogaidd.
Wedyn, cafwyd cerddoriaeth gan Beulah Band a “Choirs For Good" gyda sioe gŵn hwyliog yn dechrau ychydig ar ôl cinio. Nid dyna ddiwedd y gweithgareddau, gyda mwy o ddigwyddiadau yn y prynhawn gan Gadetiaid Môr Conwy, a raffl hael i orffen y diwrnod.
Yn siarad ar ôl y digwyddiad, dywedodd Janet:
"Roedd yn bleser ymweld â diwrnod y prom, a gweld cannoedd, os nad miloedd o bobl yn cefnogi'r digwyddiad gwych hwn sy'n cynnig diwrnod allan am ddim i aelodau'r teulu cyfan.
Roedd cymaint o weithgareddau y gallai pawb gymryd rhan ynddyn nhw, gyda'r promenâd cyfan yn llawn cerddoriaeth, sioeau a stondinau. Roedd yr awyrgylch yn wych!
"Mae digwyddiadau am ddim fel hyn yn hynod bwysig i gefnogi ein heconomi leol, ac roedd yn gyffrous gweld yr holl elusennau a sefydliadau gwahanol, a chyfarfod eu gwirfoddolwyr anhygoel. Roedd cymaint i ddewis ohonyn nhw, gan gynnwys yr RNLI, y Cynghorydd Ian Turner gyda deiseb Achub Traeth y Gogledd, Tenvous Cymru, y Cynghorydd Helen Roberts, Maethu Cymru a Damian Plant gyda gwirfoddolwyr Hosbis Dewi Sant.
"Wrth fwynhau'r heulwen hyfryd, a oedd yn esgus perffaith i gael hufen iâ haeddiannol, bu Ron Watson Jones o Benmaenmawr yn fy serenadu wrth iddo berfformio Rockiin Ron. Roeddwn i'n teimlo fel Juliet yn nrama Shakespeare.
"Rwy'n ddiolchgar dros ben i gymaint o bobl am ddod i'r digwyddiad hwn a'i gefnogi, ac roedd yn anrhydedd i mi weld y Cynghorydd Eva Roberts yn ei digwyddiad ffurfiol cyntaf fel Maer Conwy.
"Hoffwn ddiolch i'r pwyllgor, a'u gwirfoddolwyr a helpodd i wneud y digwyddiad hwn yn bosibl. Hefyd, diolch i bob elusen, sefydliad ac unigolyn a gyfrannodd at wneud y digwyddiad hwn yn un mor hwyliog.
"Alla i ddim aros i ddod i'r digwyddiad eto'r flwyddyn nesaf!"

“I am extremely thankful for so many people attending and supporting this event, and I was honoured to witness the newly appointed Cllr Eva Roberts at her first formal event, as Mayor of Conwy.
“I want to thank the committee, and their volunteers that helped make this event possible. In addition, every charity, organisation, and individual that contributed to making this event so fun filled.
