Janet Finch-Saunders Aberconwy MS/AS congratulates Wales FA on securing a place in the FIFA World Cup Final in Qatar, late this year. Echoing Gareth Bale, World Cup qualification is the ‘final piece of the jigsaw,’ following a weekend of Jubilee celebrations. Facing Ukraine for the final spot in Group B, Wales played an outstanding 95 minutes which saw plenty of twist and turns.
Commenting on the game, Janet said.
“I want to offer my warmest congratulations to the entire Wales football team on qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar later this year. After 64 years, no other team is more deserving to take the final spot in group B. We’ve seen our national football team work hard to rightfully earn their place in the world’s greatest football tournament and yesterday we saw this commitment to sport and specifically Welsh sport, rewarded outstandingly. The Welsh football team have demonstrated their ability to be good examples of sportsmanship and humility. Nothing makes me prouder than to see our lads now go off and play as one of the world’s greatest teams in the world.”
Commenting further, Janet adds.
“It’s important for us also to recognise the support and dedication shown by Welsh fans over the past few years, who rightly deserve to take centre stage on this momentous occasion. They have been the backbone of Wales FA and have been our greatest ambassadors as the football team tour around the World. The love and inspiration shown by millions towards the Welsh team, has helped carry a national message of togetherness and I know that this will encourage the next generation to rally around their small, but mighty nation.”
Janet looks forward to the World Cup later this year and hopes to join friends and family in being able to spectate in Qatar.
