The Member of the Welsh Parliament, Janet Finch-Saunders, has recently visited a local Chabad retreat centre in Llandudno that has received National Lottery funding.
Chabad is the name of one of the largest groups within Orthodox Jewry and has approximately 5000 centres located throughout the world. The centre operates in numerous functions including, a Synagogue for local and visiting members of the Jewish faith, a venue for schools and youth clubs to have weekends away by the sea or to provide subsidised holidays for families in need of support.
Commenting after the visit Janet said:
“I was pleased to meet with Mr Max Cohen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chabad Retreat Centre, at this location so to discover the ways in which the National Lottery has supported this centre.
“I am aware that a grant of over £9,000 has been provided to fund two new bathrooms in the facility and to promote and pull together youth groups.
“According to the National Lottery a further £10,000 has been awarded to develop the facility’s physical and mental health programme, using the money to fund a Project Coordinator, renovation of four kitchens, activity costs and 12 sessions.
“I would like to wish the centre continuing success”.

“Rwy'n ymwybodol bod grant o dros £9,000 wedi'i roi i ariannu dwy ystafell ymolchi newydd yn y cyfleuster ac er mwyn hyrwyddo a denu grwpiau ieuenctid at ei gilydd.
“Yn ôl y Loteri Genedlaethol dyfarnwyd £10,000 arall i ddatblygu rhaglen iechyd corfforol a meddyliol y cyfleuster, gan ddefnyddio'r arian i ariannu Cydlynydd Prosiect, adnewyddu pedair cegin, costau gweithgareddau a 12 sesiwn.
