Janet Finch-Saunders AM visited Sional Ltd to meet their Director, Mr Alan Jones, winner of Conwy Business Person of the Year, in Llanfairfechan on Friday.
The business has risen to prominence recently: having purchased Llanfairfechan Industrial Estate last year, the Member understands that their increased turnover by 40% in the past year.
The company provides quality branded merchandise and clothing both locally and overseas to a wide variety of clients.
The Member enjoyed a tour of the production facilities, meeting with local staff, and said:
“Sional Ltd are a wonderful example of a local success story. Growing from a hobby into a business shipping orders internationally in just a few years is a remarkable achievement.
“It was great to have a chance to discuss local business needs with Alan Jones, Director of Sional Ltd.
“A key priority for the Welsh Government must be ensuring that those with the ideas and drive to set up their own business are able to access the right support and funding to do so. The growth of Sional Ltd is truly inspiring, and really demonstrates just what can be achieved with the right passion and dedication. We must work harder to help more people to develop their interests into a successful business.
“A strong private sector means a strong economy to support our public services, and I shall continue to push the Welsh Government to improve access to support and advice for small business and new start ups.”
