Last night, Janet-Finch Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, spoke at the National Residential Landlords Association Wales National Webinar.
The NRLA is the UK’s largest membership organisation for private residential landlords. They provide learning resources, and market-leading intelligence for the sector, and seek a fair legal and regulatory environment for both landlords and tenants.
As a panellist, Janet spoke in a Q&A session on issues affecting the sector, such as the Article 4 Direction and Amendments, Rent Controls, Local Housing Allowances, Taxes on Second Homes, and Rent Smart Wales.
Speaking after the event, Janet said:
“A big thank you to the NRLA Wales Representatives, Sandra Towers and Gillian Owens for hosting me. I thoroughly enjoyed the webinar, and getting to interact with members.
“Housing is an important part of my portfolio as Shadow Minister for Climate Change, and I am passionate about fair treatment for both tenants and landlords.
“I want a Wales with affordable homes to buy and rent and with an increased housing supply. This can only be achieved if the Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru cooperative Welsh Government addresses our housing crisis and stops villainising landlords and second home owners.”
Neithiwr, bu Janet-Finch Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn siarad yng ngweminar Cenedlaethol Cymdeithas Genedlaethol Landlordiaid Preswyl Cymru.
Cymdeithas Genedlaethol y Landlordiaid Preswyl yw'r sefydliad aelodaeth mwyaf yn y DU ar gyfer landlordiaid preswyl preifat. Maen nhw’n darparu adnoddau dysgu, a gwybodaeth sy'n arwain y farchnad ar gyfer y sector, ac yn ceisio sicrhau amgylchedd cyfreithiol a rheoleiddiol teg i landlordiaid a thenantiaid.
Fel panelydd, bu Janet yn siarad mewn sesiwn holi ac ateb ar faterion sy’n effeithio ar y sector, megis Cyfarwyddyd a Gwelliannau Erthygl 4, Rheoli Rhenti, Lwfansau Tai Lleol, Trethi ar Ail Gartrefi, a Rhentu Doeth Cymru.
Wrth siarad ar ôl y digwyddiad, dywedodd Janet:
"Diolch yn fawr iawn i Gynrychiolwyr Cymdeithas Genedlaethol Landlordiaid Preswyl Cymru, Sandra Towers a Gillian Owens am fy nghroesawu. Fe wnes i fwynhau'r gweminar yn fawr iawn, a chael rhyngweithio ag aelodau.
"Mae tai yn rhan bwysig o'm portffolio fel Gweinidog Newid Hinsawdd yr Wrthblaid, ac rwy'n angerddol am driniaeth deg i denantiaid a landlordiaid.
"Rydw i eisiau gweld Cymru â chartrefi fforddiadwy i’w prynu a’u rhentu a gwell cyflenwad tai. Dim ond os bydd Llywodraeth Cymru Llafur Cymru a Phlaid Cymru yn mynd i'r afael â'n hargyfwng tai y gellir cyflawni hyn a rhoi’r gorau i gosbi landlordiaid a pherchnogion ail gartrefi."
