Following the shocking news of an attack of vandalism on the Penmaenmawr Phoenix Football Club's bus, Janet Finch-Saunders AM said:
“This despicable and meaningless act of vandalism is utterly abhorrent. That someone should seek to maliciously destroy such a valuable asset to the local football club is shocking.
“The work of those who so generously give their time and volunteer to benefit the lives of the many children who enjoy being part of the Penmaenmawr Phoenix FC teams is wonderful, and makes it all the more baffling to consider that anyone would wish to inflict such a senseless act of violence against the Club.
“The incredible way in which the local community has come together following this has been truly heartening – and it is wonderful to see the fundraising page set up exceeding its target so considerably in such a short space of time.
“I am delighted to see such a strong and positive response from so many in the neighbourhood – and further afield – in supporting Penmaenmawr Phoenix FC during this time, and it was particularly special to see that the under-8s team won at the weekend in the Towyn football tournament – a testament to their bravery and determination, even after such an awful event.”
