Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has issued the below statement in response to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II:
On behalf of everyone in Aberconwy, I send our deepest condolences to The Royal Family at this very sad time.
Throughout my life, and those of so many constituents, we have only known one monarch.
She has been an incredible constant, the staff providing stability to people around the world.
To us all she has given her heart and devotion, serving until her peaceful passing.
Her example will continue to inspire my life, and those of so many.
This time of mourning will give us all an opportunity to reflect on her life dedicated to others.
For us in Aberconwy, we had the privilege of the presence of Her Majesty when she attended the National Eisteddfod held in Llandudno in 1963, visited Venue Cymru in 2010, came here as part of the Silver Jubilee tour in 1977, and other occasions.
And today, it is humbling to see flags across the constituency, from Llanrwst to Llandudno, having been lowered as a sign of respect.
Thank you, Your Majesty, for your service. May you rest in eternal peace.
ENDS
Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi cyhoeddi’r datganiad isod mewn ymateb i farwolaeth Ei Mawrhydi, y Frenhines Elizabeth II:
Ar ran pawb yn Aberconwy, anfonaf ein cydymdeimlad dwysaf at y Teulu Brenhinol yn ystod y cyfnod trist iawn hwn.
Drwy gydol fy mywyd i, a bywydau cymaint o etholwyr, dim ond un frenhines sydd wedi bod.
Mae hi wedi bod yno’n gyson ddigyfnewid, yn graig o sefydlogrwydd i bobl o gwmpas y byd.
Rhoddodd ei chalon a’i hymroddiad i ni i gyd, gan wasanaethu hyd ei hymadawiad heddychlon.
Bydd ei hesiampl yn parhau i ysbrydoli fy mywyd i, a bywydau cymaint o bobl eraill.
Bydd y cyfnod hwn o alaru yn rhoi cyfle i ni i gyd fyfyrio ar ei bywyd, a ymgysegrodd er mwyn eraill.
Cafodd pobl Aberconwy y fraint o gael presenoldeb Ei Mawrhydi pan fynychodd yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Llandudno yn 1963, yn ystod ei hymweliad â Venue Cymru yn 2010, pan ddaeth yma fel rhan o daith y Jiwbilî Arian yn 1977, ac ar achlysuron eraill.
Heddiw, mae’n galondid gweld baneri ar draws yr etholaeth, o Lanrwst i Landudno, wedi eu gostwng fel arwydd o barch.
Diolch, Eich Mawrhydi, am eich gwasanaeth. Boed i chi orffwys mewn heddwch tragwyddol.
