The Prime Minister has called for action to tackle the gender pay gap for good within a generation.
Last year the UK Government introduced ground-breaking regulations requiring employers to publish gender pay gap data, helping to expose inequalities and close the earnings gap for good.
Businesses with 250 or more employees have until Midnight tonight to publish the data.
Janet Finch-Saunders, who sits on the Assembly’s Equalities Committee, said:
“Forcing big businesses to publish their pay data is an important step, because it also forces them to confront the reality that not enough progress is being made.
“We need firm action, and we need to ensure that we create a society that enables everyone to go as far as their talents can take them – regardless of gender.
“The gender pay gap is at an historic low but we need to act if we are to close the gap within a generation.”
