The Shadow Minister for climate change has today called on Lee Waters to release a statement on the significant train delays to Milford Haven on Monday the 28th of March. The member of the Senedd was travelling down to Cardiff Bay with a member of staff when their usual 4-hour journey took 9 hours overall.
In her statement in the Senedd Janet said:
“It was the most horrendous situation, people crying, people anxious to get to their final destination. In desperation, my colleague Llyr Gruffydd and I took to twitter to communicate with the Deputy Minister for climate change Lee Waters to report the ongoing train delay which had come to a halt on the tracks. Needless to say, Mr Waters failed to respond.”
The Deputy Ministers portfolio covers transport in Wales. Janet has been supportive of regenerative plans to better connect the people of Wales through the expansion of TfW. However, adding further to this issue,
The Shadow Minister went on to say:
“The people of Wales deserve a national train network that is not only modern and affordable but reliant and accountable when things go wrong. Yesterday was a poor example of the so-called progress this Welsh Government is supposedly making in its rail development plan.”
The Shadow Minister has confirmed that she will continue to push the Deputy Minister and ensure that accountability is taken.
