Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight after receiving an update from Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) about the paddling pools closures.
Today (9 May 2023), CCBC confirmed that a suitable contractor has been found to install the anti-slip coating across all four of the county’s pools.
Speaking on this wonderful news, Janet said:
“I want to thank every single person that showed their support to our campaign to see the pools re-opened.
“Whilst the Local Authority stated that there is only one UK provider and installer, as a community we made clear that we did not believe the claim for a single second.
“I am pleased that CCBC have listened, and gone forward to find a suitable contractor.
“I look forward to receiving dates for when the works will be undertaken in each of the pools in Aberconwy.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi sôn am ei balchder ar ôl derbyn diweddariad gan Gyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy (CBSC) am y pyllau padlo sydd wedi cau.
Heddiw (9 Mai 2023), cadarnhaodd CBSC fod contractwr addas wedi’i ganfod i osod yr haenen wrthlithro ar bedwar pwll padlo’r sir.
Gan gyfeirio at y newyddion gwych, dywedodd Janet:
“Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi cefnogi ein hymgyrch i weld y pyllau’n cael ail-agor.
“Tra bod yr Awdurdod Lleol wedi dweud mai dim ond un darparwr a gosodwr sydd yna yn y DU, fe ddywedodd y gymuned yn glir nad oedden ni’n credu’r haeriad hwnnw am un eiliad.
“Rwy’n falch bod CBSC wedi gwrando, ac wedi bwrw ymlaen i ddod o hyd i gontractwr addas.
“Rwy’n edrych ymlaen at dderbyn dyddiadau cwblhau’r gwaith ym mhob un o’r pyllau yn Aberconwy.”
