Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has undertaken a visit to Llandudno Police Station to meet North Wales Police’s new Chief Constable, Amanda Blakeman.
Ms Blakeman was appointed as Deputy Chief Constable for West Mercia Police in February 2017 having previously been Assistant Chief Constable for Local Policing, since October 2014, for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police. She joined Gwent Police in October 2019 as Deputy Chief Constable, and was appointed as Chief Constable for North Wales in October 2022.
Commenting after meeting the Chief Constable in Llandudno, Janet said:
“We are fortunate that an officer with three decades of experience has been appointed Chief Constable, and that she is already getting to grips with some of the issues facing Aberconwy.
“It was vital to me that we met for the first time here in Llandudno so to help emphasise the considerable problems we are experiencing, especially with anti-social behaviour.
“Amanda is an inspirational lady who is determined to deliver. With a great team backing her on the ground, I have every confidence that she will achieve considerable success. In fact, she is already delivering on rural crime, arrests, and combating trafficking.”
