Over 10,000 people have signed the petition which calls for the Welsh Government to fund the removal of quarry rocks and the restoration of sand and groynes to Llandudno North Shore.
10,000 are needed for the petition to be considered for a debate in the Welsh Parliament.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has been working with Cllr Ian Turner and other concerned residents to help see sand restored to North Shore beach.
You can still sign the petition here.
Commenting on achieving the major target, Janet said:
“The people of Aberconwy, Wales, and the United Kingdom have sent the Welsh Government a clear message: sand and groynes should be restored on North Shore Beach, Llandudno.
“Whilst 5,000 have backed the campaign in Aberconwy, it speaks volumes that residents in all corners of not only Wales, but the United Kingdom have signed up too. In fact, over 2,600 in England have backed the campaign too!
“With thousands campaigning to save our special beach, a short section of the 1,680miles of coastline in Wales, there can be no doubt that it is a location of major importance. The Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour Conwy County Borough Council should never have dumped quarry rocks on our shore, but now the Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour co-operation Welsh Government have an opportunity to make right a major wrong.
“I am grateful to everyone who has helped in achieving the huge target. A very special thanks must go to Cllr Ian Turner. Every day he has been working on the petition, and ensured that we achieved the required number 7 weeks before the deadline! ”
The Petitions Committee in the Welsh Parliament must now consider whether to allow the petition to be debated in the Welsh Parliament.

Mae 10,000 a mwy o bobl wedi arwyddo'r ddeiseb sy'n galw ar Lywodraeth Cymru i ariannu symud creigiau chwarel ac adfer tywod a grwynau i Draeth y Gogledd Llandudno.
Mae angen 10,000 o enwau er mwyn i'r ddeiseb gael ei hystyried ar gyfer dadl yn Senedd Cymru.
Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, AS Aberconwy, wedi bod yn gweithio gyda'r Cynghorydd Ian Turner a thrigolion pryderus eraill i helpu i adfer tywod i Draeth y Gogledd.
Mae dal cyfle i lofnodi'r ddeiseb yma.
Wrth sôn am gyrraedd y targed mawr, dywedodd Janet:
“Mae pobl Aberconwy, Cymru, a'r DU wedi anfon neges glir i Lywodraeth Cymru: dylid adfer tywod a grwynau i Draeth y Gogledd, Llandudno.
“Tra bod 5,000 wedi cefnogi'r ymgyrch yn Aberconwy, mae'n dweud cyfrolau bod trigolion ym mhob twll a chornel nid yn unig o Gymru, ond y Deyrnas Unedig wedi llofnodi hefyd. Yn wir, mae dros 2,600 yn Lloegr wedi cefnogi'r ymgyrch hefyd!
“Gyda miloedd yn ymgyrchu i achub ein traeth arbennig, rhan fer o'r 1,680 milltir o arfordir yng Nghymru, does dim amheuaeth ei fod yn lleoliad hollbwysig. Ni ddylai Plaid Cymru a Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Llafur Cymru fod wedi dympio creigiau chwareli ar ein glannau, ond nawr mae gan drefniant cydweithio Plaid Cymru a Llafur Cymru yn Llywodraeth Cymru gyfle i wneud iawn ar y mater hwn.
“Rwy'n ddiolchgar i bawb sydd wedi helpu i gyrraedd y targed enfawr. Diolch o galon i'r Cynghorydd Ian Turner yn arbennig. Bob dydd mae wedi bod yn gweithio ar y ddeiseb, a sicrhau ein bod yn cyflawni'r nifer o enwau angenrheidiol 7 wythnos cyn y dyddiad cau! ”
Bellach, rhaid i Bwyllgor Deisebau Senedd Cymru ystyried a ddylid caniatáu trafod y ddeiseb yn y Senedd.
