Janet Finch-Saunders MS has held a fundraising event in aid of Tenovus Cancer Care. The charity brings treatment, emotional support and practical advice to where it matters the most; the heart of the community.
The counselling service is available to support people to explore their feelings and worries about their cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a loved one. Talking to a trained counsellor can give someone time and a confidential space to express their feelings and thoughts.
A £55 donation could support someone struggling with a diagnosis by providing them with an hour of therapy from the counselling team.
The event held by Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, raised £78.22.
Commenting after hosting the event, Janet said:
“The exceptional care and support provided by Tenovus Cancer Care is dependent on generous donations, as well as income from their retail chain, so I was pleased to be able to do my part to help the charity run cancer support services and fund cancer research.
“It was lovely to see residents come into my office to enjoy tea, cake, singing, and a good chat.
“The money we have raised will cover more than an hour of therapy for someone struggling with a diagnosis.
“I would like to thank everyone who helped make the day possible, including the Tynedale Hotel, Llandudno, who kindly donated homemade cakes!”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS wedi cynnal digwyddiad codi arian er budd Gofal Canser Tenovus. Mae'r elusen yn dod â thriniaeth, cymorth emosiynol a chyngor ymarferol i'r lle y mae eu hangen fwyaf; wrth galon y gymuned.
Mae'r gwasanaeth cwnsela yn helpu pobl i drin a thrafod eu teimladau a’u pryderon am eu diagnosis canser nhw eu hunain neu eu hanwyliaid. Mae siarad â chynghorydd medrus yn rhoi amser a lle cyfrinachol i rywun fynegi ei deimladau a'i feddyliau.
Gallai rhodd o £55 gefnogi rhywun sy’n cael trafferth gyda diagnosis drwy roi awr o therapi iddyn nhw gan y tîm cwnsela.
Llwyddwyd i godi £78.22 mewn digwyddiad a gynhaliwyd gan Janet Finch-Saunders, AS Aberconwy.

“Mae’r gofal a’r gefnogaeth eithriadol a ddarperir gan Ofal Canser Tenovus yn dibynnu ar roddion hael, yn ogystal ag incwm o’u siopau cadwyn, felly roeddwn i’n falch o allu gwneud fy rhan i helpu’r elusen i redeg gwasanaethau cymorth canser ac ariannu ymchwil canser.
“Roedd hi'n braf gweld pobl yn picied draw i’r swyddfa i fwynhau paned, cacen, ambell gân a sgwrs dda.
“Bydd yr arian a godwyd yn talu am dros awr o therapi i rywun sy’n cael trafferth gyda diagnosis.
“Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb a helpodd ar y diwrnod, gan gynnwys Gwesty Tynedale, Llandudno, a fu mor garedig â rhoi cacennau cartref!”
