Earlier this year, the Aberconwy Domestic Abuse Service based in Llandudno Junction received funding to secure this vital community service for the next three years.
The monies will develop their existing support, offering free counselling services to people of any gender suffering from, or escaping domestic violence in Aberconwy. Over three years, £99,991 will fund staff, accommodation, utilities, translation, and general running costs.
As a result of this National Lottery funding, the Member of Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders visited the service at its base on Glyn y Marl Road.
Commenting on the visit afterwards, Janet said:
“What a fantastic initiative this indispensable community support provides. Fiona and her team are doing an excellent job providing assistance to anyone that needs it. Whether it’s men, women or children.
“I am also thankful that the support service can continue for another three years thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund. Almost £100,000 has been granted, and as a result, many lives will be changed in the process.
“Thank you once again to Fiona and her fantastic team. You should all be extremely proud of the hard work and dedication you have to providing help and support to anyone that needs it”.

Yn gynharach eleni, derbyniodd Gwasanaeth Cam-drin Domestig Aberconwy yng Nghyffordd Llandudno gyllid i ddiogelu'r gwasanaeth cymunedol hanfodol hwn am y tair blynedd nesaf.
Bydd yr arian yn datblygu eu cefnogaeth bresennol, gan gynnig gwasanaethau cwnsela am ddim i bobl o unrhyw rywedd sy'n dioddef o drais yn y cartref neu sy'n dianc ohono yn Aberconwy. Dros dair blynedd, bydd £99,991 yn ariannu costau staff, llety, cyfleustodau, cyfieithu a chostau rhedeg cyffredinol.
O ganlyniad i’r arian hwn gan y Loteri Genedlaethol, ymwelodd yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders â'r gwasanaeth yn ei ganolfan ar Ffordd Glyn y Marl.
Wrth sôn am yr ymweliad wedyn, dywedodd Janet:
"Mae’r cymorth cymunedol anhepgor hwn yn fenter heb ei hail. Mae Fiona a'i thîm yn gwneud gwaith ardderchog gan roi cymorth i unrhyw un sydd ei angen. Yn ddynion, menywod neu blant.
"Rydw i hefyd yn ddiolchgar y gall y gwasanaeth cymorth barhau am dair blynedd arall diolch i Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol. Mae bron i £100,000 wedi'i roi, ac o ganlyniad, bydd llawer o fywydau'n cael eu newid yn y broses.
"Diolch unwaith eto i Fiona a'i thîm gwych. Fe ddylech chi i gyd fod yn hynod falch o'ch gwaith caled a'ch ymroddiad i ddarparu help a chefnogaeth i unrhyw un sydd eu hangen".
