Following the completion of the zebra crossing in 2020 in Glan Conwy, Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS has liaised with the Welsh Government to fund a safety assessment of the crossing.
The North & Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency (NMWTRA) have agreed to conduct a safety assessment this year following the appeal made by the Member, concerns raised by locals, and a site meeting with Mrs Finch-Saunders and Cllr Dan Worsley.
Commenting on the crossing, Janet said:
“The zebra crossing is much needed, but it remains a concern that several vehicles cruise through the route, not realising that people are waiting to cross, or worse, on the road.
“It is a positive decision to conduct a safety assessment of the zebra crossing, in particular with its popularity with students going to school.
“I am pleased that the Welsh Government are taking steps to ensure the continued safety of those living in Aberconwy, and that senior officials are playing an active role to ensure its continued success moving forward.”
