Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has praised Mr Edward Barnes, Headteacher of Ysgol Awel y Mynydd, for his “inspirational leadership”.
The celebration of Mr Barnes’ contribution to education stems following a recent visit to the school he leads in Llandudno Junction.
Commenting after the visit, Janet said:
“Ed is a brilliant headteacher who has brought inspirational leadership and fresh ideas to Llandudno Junction and Aberconwy.
“Despite year on year education budget cuts in Conwy Council, Ysgol Awel y Mynydd has remained unrelenting in its determination to provide the highest standard of education to all students.
“One example of Ed’s fine leadership in action is the provision of speech an language therapist on site to help students.
“The school is only at 79% capacity, so if you live in Llandudno Junction, or have moved into the school’s catchment area, please do consider the opportunities offered at Awel y Mynydd.”
