Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is disappointed to learn that a number of mobile phone providers do not currently have plans for additional sites in Llandudno.
Three who provide coverage in Llandudno have explained that they have 47 mobile phone mast sites in Conwy and two additional sites are being delivered as part of the Shared Rural Network (SRN) programme.
However, it is believed that the 3 masts in Llandudno are running at capacity, with no plans to relieve this pressure.
Commenting on the news Janet said:
“I thank Three for their response, however, it is simply not good enough to say that they don’t have any plans for additional sites in Llandudno.
“They explain that they are keeping the situation under review. But, how can they be keeping it under review if there is little or no signal in Llandudno?
“This is causing huge grief to many residents and businesses.
“It’s all very well having targets of near complete coverage by 2034, but when people cannot undertake their daily lives and businesses are being hindered we need action, not words.
“I encourage people to speak up about this and sign my petition on my website so we as a community can voice our frustration and demand more investment for Aberconwy.”
ENDS
Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn siomedig o glywed nad oes gan nifer o ddarparwyr ffonau symudol gynlluniau ar hyn o bryd ar gyfer safleoedd ychwanegol yn Llandudno.
Mae Three sy'n darparu signal yn Llandudno wedi egluro bod ganddyn nhw 47 o safleoedd mastiau ffôn symudol yng Nghonwy ac mae dau safle ychwanegol ar y gweill fel rhan o'r rhaglen Rhwydwaith Gwledig a Rennir (SRN).
Fodd bynnag, credir bod y 3 mast yn Llandudno yn rhedeg i’w gallu llawn, a does dim unrhyw gynlluniau i ysgafnhau'r pwysau yma.
Wrth sôn am y newyddion dywedodd Janet:
"Diolch i Three am eu hymateb, fodd bynnag, dyw hi ddim yn ddigon da dweud nad oes ganddyn nhw unrhyw gynlluniau ar gyfer safleoedd ychwanegol yn Llandudno.
"Maen nhw'n egluro eu bod nhw'n parhau i adolygu'r sefyllfa. Ond, sut maen nhw'n gallu cadw golwg ar y sefyllfa os nad oes fawr ddim signal yn Llandudno?
"Mae hyn yn achosi poen meddwl mawr i lawer o drigolion a busnesau.
"Digon hawdd cael targedau ar gyfer darpariaeth lawn bron iawn erbyn 2034, ond pan na all pobl fynd o gwmpas eu bywydau bob dydd a phan mae busnesau'n cael eu rhwystro, mae angen gweithredu, nid geiriau gwag.
"Rwy'n annog pobl i godi llais am hyn a llofnodi’r ddeiseb ar fy ngwefan fel y gallwn ni fel cymuned leisio ein rhwystredigaeth a mynnu mwy o fuddsoddiad ar gyfer Aberconwy."
