Following the aftermath and devastation from storm Darragh, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is calling for Welsh Government funding to support homes and businesses affected.
From Capel Curig to Llandudno severe damage has been caused by winds as strong as 93mph.
Commenting on the news Janet said:
“I am devastated by the impact of the storm across North Wales.
“The damage to our beloved Llandudno Pier is beyond comprehension. For example, a 150 year old kiosk destroyed.
“Several businesses have had damage to roofs, and small business Saturday was a right-off for all.
“Over 40 years ago, the late Cllr Jack Finch, a former Penrhyn Bay Town and County Councillor, led the committee that planted trees in memory of Lord Mountbatten, including one with his daughter—me. It breaks my heart to see the serious damage now inflicted on this cherished green space, homes, and businesses.
“I have therefore put an emergency question into the Welsh Government asking what financial support will be made available.”
