Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is delighted to see that Llandudno Pier is on track to fully reopen this weekend as dedicated workers continue their tireless efforts to repair the extensive damage caused by Storm Darragh.
The iconic Victorian landmark was forced to close in early December after the storm caused severe destruction, including the loss of two units and significant damage to benches, panels, toilets, the arcade, the pier head, and another business.
While the less-affected half of the pier was able to reopen last month, and one business resumed operations last weekend following roof repairs, efforts have continued to restore the entire site.
Commenting Janet said:
"It’s fantastic to see Llandudno Pier on track to fully reopen after the devastation of Storm Darragh. This historic landmark means so much to our community, and its restoration is truly uplifting.
Huge thanks to Adam Williams, Tir Prince Leisure Group, Paul Williams, and the entire team for their tireless efforts in repairing the extensive damage. Their dedication has been crucial in ensuring a safe reopening.
With the pier head, bar, café, and arcade set to reopen, this marks a major milestone. I look forward to visiting soon and celebrating this treasured attraction’s return!"
