Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Shadow Minister for Climate Change, and Laura Anne Jones MS, Shadow Minister for Education, have spoken of their delight at attending the grand opening of Llandudno’s retro-inspired café and bar.
Loungers have transformed the site previously owned by M&Co, creating a stylish venue with patterned wallpapers, stripped wooden floors, vintage sofas, amazing artwork, and dazzling light fittings, where anyone can easily relax and soak in the atmosphere.
The drinks list is accompanied by an all-day menu that features everything from tapas and salads to burgers and buttermilk fried chicken.
Commenting at the opening event, Janet said:
“I would like to thank Lounges for including me in their grand opening and creating a cool venue here in town.
“There are a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from, and the produce is outstanding.
“The tapas and tipples are top notch. We certainly should raise a toast to all the team because they have succeeded to make an exceptional contribution to Llandudno’s tourism and hospitality offering”.
The Shadow Minister, Laura Anne Jones MS added:
“It was a pleasure to join Janet to celebrate and back business investment in Llandudno.
“The private sector understands the fantastic potential of Aberconwy, so it is high time that the Welsh Labour Government and Plaid Cymru did so too.
“Earlier in the day I met outstanding pupils at Ysgol San Sior, who are already inspirational ambassadors for the town, environment, and climate change. We need to ensure that there are as many job opportunities as possible in the area for them.
“We can do this by delivering on the potential to increase the number of day visitors to the Queen of Welsh Resorts from 2.88 million to 4.08 million, overnight trips from 440,289 to 561,339, and the economic impact of tourism from £388.8 million to £513.6 million. To help make that growth a reality the Welsh Government should back the return of sand to North Shore, and continuation of direct rail services to the town from Manchester Airport.”

Cafodd Janet Finch-Saunders AS, Gweinidog yr Wrthblaid dros Newid Hinsawdd, a Laura Anne Jones AS, Gweinidog Addysg yr Wrthblaid, y pleser o fynychu agoriad mawreddog caffi a bar retro ei naws yn Llandudno.
Mae Loungers wedi trawsnewid y safle oedd gynt yn perthyn i M&Co, gan greu lleoliad chwaethus gyda phapur wal patrymog, lloriau pren, soffas vintage, gwaith celf anhygoel, a goleuo disglair, lle gall unrhyw un ymlacio a mwynhau i'r eithaf.
Mae bwydlen gydol y dydd yn cyd-fynd â rhestr diodydd sy'n cynnwys popeth yn cynnwys tapas a salads i fyrgyrs a chyw iâr wedi'i ffrio mewn llaeth enwyn.
Wrth sôn am y digwyddiad agoriadol, dywedodd Janet:
“Hoffwn ddiolch i Loungers am fy nghynnwys yn eu hagoriad mawreddog a chreu lleoliad cŵl yma yn y dref.
“Mae amrywiaeth o ardaloedd bwyta ac yfed clyd a chain i ddewis ohonynt, ac mae'r cynnyrch yn ardderchog.
“Mae'r tapas a'r diodydd o'r radd flaenaf. Yn sicr, dylem godi'n gwydrau i holl aelodau'r tîm am lwyddo i wneud cyfraniad eithriadol i arlwy twristiaeth a lletygarwch Llandudno".

“Mae'r sector preifat yn deall potensial gwych Aberconwy, felly mae'n hen bryd i Lywodraeth Lafur Cymru a Phlaid Cymru wneud hynny hefyd.
“Yn gynharach yn y dydd, cefais gwrdd â disgyblion eithriadol Ysgol San Sior, sydd eisoes yn llysgenhadon ysbrydoledig dros y dref, yr amgylchedd a newid hinsawdd. Mae angen i ni sicrhau bod cymaint o gyfleoedd gwaith â phosibl yn yr ardal ar eu cyfer.
“Gallwn wneud hyn drwy gyflawni'r potensial i gynyddu nifer yr ymwelwyr dydd â phrif dref glan môr Cymru o 2.88 miliwn i 4.08 miliwn, cynyddu teithiau dros nos o 440,289 i 561,339, a chynyddu effaith economaidd twristiaeth o £388.8 miliwn i £513.6 miliwn. Er mwyn helpu i wireddu'r twf hwnnw, dylai Llywodraeth Cymru gefnogi cynlluniau i ddod â thywod yn ôl i Draeth y Gogledd, a pharhad gwasanaethau rheilffordd uniongyrchol i'r dref o Faes Awyr Manceinion.”
