Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight after visiting a unique Spanish deli in Craig-y-Don.
The delicatessen with a Spanish twist is hitting the high street by storm. The deli owned by Remedios “Reme” Aldana Lopez was setup last year with a dual purpose.
Reme originally from Barcelona has lived in North Wales for over 20 years and has setup Casa Reme on Mostyn Avenue to bring a slice of home to Llandudno, with a twist.
Not only has she setup a deli downstairs that offers Spanish delights such as cheeses, charcuterie, tapas as well as vegan and traditional Welsh products, the upstairs has been converted into a studio where Reme teaches Spanish.
In addition to the Spanish lessons, Reme also organises residential trips to Spain so that learners can use their newly learned language.
Commenting on the visit, Janet said:
"I was delighted to visit Casa Reme Delicatessen and meet with Reme to see her wonderful business.
"I believe the deli offers a unique experience for locals and visitors to our wonderful town, with tasty Spanish favourites, as well as Vegan and Welsh products. The platters she prepares looked particularly enticing.
"In addition, it is brilliant to see the excellent use of the space by converting the upstairs into a studio, enabling important Spanish lessons with the option of a residential trip to Spain for so many people. I would highly recommend the lessons for anyone wanting to learn this vibrant language.
"Thank you Reme for the excellent tour of your deli and studio."

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi siarad am ei hapusrwydd ar ôl ymweld â deli Sbaenaidd unigryw yng Nghraig-y-Don.
Mae'r delicatessen sydd â naws Sbaenaidd yn fan poblogaidd iawn ar y stryd fawr. Agorodd y deli sy'n eiddo i Remedios "Reme" Aldana Lopez y llynedd gyda dau nod.
Mae Reme, sy'n wreiddiol o Barcelona, yn byw yn y gogledd ers dros 20 mlynedd, ac wedi gosod Casa Reme ar Rodfa Mostyn i ddod â blas o Sbaen i Landudno, ond gyda thinc ychydig yn wahanol.
Nid yn unig mae hi wedi agor deli ar y llawr gwaelod sy'n cynnig seigiau Sbaenaidd hyfryd fel cawsiau, charcuterie a thapas yn ogystal â chynnyrch figan a thraddodiadol Cymreig, ond i fyny grisiau mae wedi creu stiwdio lle mae Reme yn dysgu Sbaeneg.
Yn ogystal â'r gwersi Sbaeneg, mae Reme hefyd yn trefnu teithiau preswyl i Sbaen fel y gall ddysgwyr ddefnyddio'r iaith maen nhw newydd ei dysgu.
Wrth sôn am yr ymweliad, dywedodd Janet:
"Roeddwn i wrth fy modd yn ymweld â Casa Reme Delicatessen a chyfarfod â Reme i weld ei busnes gwych
"Dwi'n credu bod y deli yn cynnig profiad unigryw i bobl leol ac ymwelwyr i'n tref hyfryd, gyda ffefrynnau Sbaenaidd blasus, yn ogystal â chynnyrch Figan a Chymreig. Roedd y platiau mae hi'n eu paratoi yn tynnu dŵr i’r dannedd
"Hefyd, mae'n wych gweld y defnydd rhagorol o'r gofod i fyny grisiau yn cael ei droi’n stiwdio – lle gwych i gael gwersi Sbaeneg pwysig gyda'r opsiwn o daith breswyl i Sbaen i gymaint o bobl. Byddwn yn argymell y gwersi yn fawr i unrhyw un sydd eisiau dysgu'r iaith wych hon
"Diolch Reme am daith ardderchog o’ch deli a'ch stiwdio"
