Janet Finch-Saunders MS has encouraged members of the public to volunteer to help raise money to care for parrots in need.
Following a visit to the shop in Colwyn Bay, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy has highlighted the fantastic work being done by North Wales Parrot Rescue, the only parrot rescue charity in the UK.
The organisation is putting out the call for volunteers to help work in their North Wales store.
Speaking after her visit, Janet said:
“I was delighted to visit North Wales Parrot Rescue in Colwyn Bay.
“They attend numerous events to raise money and awareness, such as the Bryn y Maen Show. They also give talks in schools, and have even appeared on S4C and Channel 5!
“They have a shop in Colwyn Bay, which I would encourage everyone to visit.
“Everything is reasonably priced, and the shop is a real part of the community there.
“All the money goes towards looking after the approximately 30 parrots that the organisation cares for.
“The charity have told me that they are in great need of as many volunteers as possible to work in their shop.
“As the only parrot rescue charity in the UK, they deserve all the support we can give them”!
